You’ll join a cross-functional delivery team building a Prescription Transfer API platform; a backend integration layer enabling secure, real-time prescription and order data exchange between healthcare systems, fulfillment partners, and payment providers. The solution is being developed with a focus on scalability, observability, and HIPAA/PHI compliance; supporting mission-critical healthcare workflows.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the API integration between pharmacy and partner systems; bridging the gap between business requirements and engineering implementation; ensuring that technical solutions align with healthcare operations, compliance needs, and product goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead requirements discovery during the Discovery Phase; work with SMEs, architects, and delivery leads to define the end-to-end prescription transfer workflow;
  • Translate business objectives into clear, testable user stories, API requirements, and acceptance criteria;
  • Collaborate with engineers to define data models, event flows, and error-handling logic for reliable integrations;
  • Support the Solution Architect in refining the API contract and validating integration scenarios with third-party systems;
  • Partner with QA to ensure business logic and regulatory requirements are verifiable through test cases;
  • Identify dependencies, risks, and assumptions early in the delivery process and communicate them across teams;
  • Document workflows, data mappings, and operational readiness requirements;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by refining delivery processes and ensuring shared understanding across technical and business teams.

Skills and requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in integration-heavy or regulated environments such as healthcare, fintech, or insurance;
  • Strong understanding of API design principles, data mapping, and event-driven systems;
  • Proven experience in Agile delivery, backlog management, and working closely with cross-functional teams;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable requirements;
  • Familiarity with HIPAA/PHI compliance, data security, or operational resilience is a strong plus;
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Postman, and Miro.
  • Experienced with complex API and system integration initiatives, preferably in the healthcare domain, and translating business workflows into scalable, compliant technical solutions.
